Our system automatically generates and sends letters through a hybrid mail partner. When you make a payment towards a PCN and it is then marked as paid in full on our system, it may be that a letter had already been sent to our hybrid mail partner and is making its way to you in the post.
The easiest way to check if this is a legitimate letter, or one that should be ignored is by:
- Check the notice number - in the top right of the letter is the notice number, if it is different to the notice number on the letter you originally used to pay then it may be that you have multiple PCNs. Contact us and we can check for you.
- Check the letter issue date - if you paid on the 3rd of the month, but the letter issue date on the new letter was the 1st of the month then it is likely the letter can be ignored.
Nine times out of ten a letter received after a PCN has been paid in full can be ignored, but always check to ensure that is the case.
